Sport Aficionados Caprice: Collecting Hot Packs
Posted on Feb 06, 2009 under Collectibles |Most sports fanatics do not just stop at being updated on baseball scores or basketball rankings. Staying updated is just one way of being fan and another way would be preserving the glory of sport history by owning sport cards.
Collecting sports cards qualifies as a hobby and it also has its ways of being lucrative through sports card hot packs. Hot packs are those old sport cards that can be rookie cards, inserts, complete sets, or unopened. The Rookie cards are the most common hot packs and the easiest to find. This is usually the first appearance of a player on a sport card hence it got the term rookie. The inserts on the other hand is somehow similar to a rookie card but with more value in it. It has more value because it is a limited edition card with a signature or stuff of a player with it. Another hot packs collected are the complete sets. For collectors, having complete sets is just considered as a norm but having complete sets with inserts is one pricey hot pack. But the most pricey of all hot packs are the unopened ones. Having remained intact, untouched, and not degraded for years, unopened sport cards have the highest level of preservation that comes with the premium price.
For starters, finding hot packs can be easy with the help of internet. The first thing to do is decide what hot pack you want and then join related online forums. Through online forums, a starter can learn a lot from the members who are most likely old time collectors who knows so much about the market value of hot packs and good places to buy them from.
